Tonite I am exhausted. Tired in my bones. It’s been a very busy few days after a very busy weekend. This goes with the territory for a minister at this time of year.

December is busy and with busy-ness comes exhaustion. So it brings me comfort and joy on a night like this to find words like these from Isaiah.

As I lay me down to sleep – it is a gift and a blessing to know that God’s covenant of peace surrounds me. He has promised it will not be broken. He has promised his love will endure even as the world around us is shaken. I am secure in his hands. You are secure in his hands.

May you also take comfort in this promise of God during this beautiful, but stressful, busy and exhausting season.
